Chefs Matthew Roberts and Shana Suffel

Matthew and Shana will most likely be the first and last people you see during your stay at the lodge. Both friendly, courteous, and professional, these two form an outstanding team.

Matthew (A.K.A. Loco Mateo),has been cooking professionally for eighteen years encounting. He cut his teeth in the fine dining scene of the Phoenix/Scottsdale area while attending college for a degree in business. He has cooked for countless celebrities, sports stars and dignitaries in his years in the valley of the sun. Later he ventured on to travel the country, cooking at various establishments while on his pursuit to fish new waters along the way. During his travels, he produced four seasons of a wildly comical yet informative cooking segment for Field and Stream magazine ‘s online fishing show “Hook Shots.” Matthew eventually found the “The Last Trout Stream he’ll ever need to fish” on the pristine North Platte in 2015. In 2017, the ultimate alliance of “kitchenry“ was formed when he & Shana began cooking together!

Shana (A.K.A. Shana Banana), Is as sweet as her signature desserts. She was born & raised just down the road in sunny Wheatland, WY. Shana has been cooking and baking since she was a little girl under the watchful eye of her mother and grandmother in their country kitchen. Shana moved to Casper in 2003, where she started her family, raising two fine young boys. Shana loves the outdoors. When you don’t find her in the kitchen, you’ll find her hiking, paddle boarding, fishing, and drinking champagne on the water. Shana’s shining personality and warm smile brings a joyful comfort to the lodge and we’re proud to have her with us!
