Flows at Grey Reef Dam range from 500cfs in the spring/fall to 3500cfs in the summer months. Stable flows at Grey Reef produce an environment rich in aquatic life. Scuds, midges and aquatic worms maintain these huge trout throughout the winter months. Hatches begin with spring baetis and continue into the summer months including yellow stone flies, pale morning duns, crane flies, tricos, and caddis. Due to their rich environment these trout are extremely healthy and incredibly hard fighting. Most of the trout caught at Grey Reef are in the 18-20 inch range with lots of girth!
